Music & Worship

The Music & Worship ministry at Swift Creek is focused on celebrating God's work in the world, and in our hearts, through the sacrificial death of Jesus for our sins.

True worship is emphasized in God's first commandment, to have no other gods before Him (Exodus 20:3). We seek to worship God as Jesus said in John 4:23-24, "...in spirit and truth.” We recognize that we are more inclined to worship the idols of the world, and that we must intentionally resolve to place the Lord at the head of our lives. That resolve culminates in our gatherings on Sunday, to declare the Lord to be the chief end of our worship.

At Swift Creek, we take seriously what the Bible tells us, that worship is not merely our singing on Sunday morning, but is also preaching, teaching, praying, fellowshipping, giving, serving. Indeed, all of our lives are to be lived as worship, presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice to the One who created and sustains us. That belief informs the way we do worship at Swift Creek, as a honest expression of our gratefulness to God for what He has done for us through Jesus.

opportunities to serve

In our Music and Worship ministry, we have praise teams that help lead worship, with vocalists and instrumentalists at the 11 AM service, and an adult choir that sings on Sundays at 11 and special occasions. We welcome everyone to participate in our choir; participation in our praise team (vocal and instrumental) requires at least some experience. Currently, choir rehearsal are on Wednesdays, 7:45 p.m.

Our Sunday worship services can't happen without the incredible support of our technical volunteers, who handle the tasks of audio, video and lighting for each one of our services. We also broadcast our services on local cable outlets, on Facebook Live, and our volunteers record services, and edit them for broadcast. You don't have to have previous experience (though we welcome it), just a willingness to serve the Lord. Our Worship Pastor can answer any questions you have.

At Swift Creek, there are opportunities for creative artists to worship through their art. Whether painting, drawing, photography, computer graphics, web design, or any other creative endeavor, we'd like to include you as we walk and worship together.
