Our church has purchased the license to show the new film Courageous, another great film by Sherwood pictures. It is the story of four police officers who not only deal with the challenges of their job, but also the challenge of being the kind of father they should be. The movie has a strong message about fatherhood, it touches the heart, and many will like the action-packed police drama! The movie also has a good presentation of the Gospel. We encourage you to attend and invite others as an outreach to the community. For more information about the movie, see www.courageousthemovie.com. SPORTSMEN’S DINNER AND PROGRAM

January 28, 6:00 p.m.

Our Deacons are sponsoring a special dinner for men and boys on Saturday, January 28, at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. We invite all of our hunters and anglers to cook and bring wild game and fish. Men who do not have game or fish to bring are asked to bring a vegetable, bread, or dessert. Our men are encouraged to invite guests to this special fellowship dinner as an outreach.

Following the meal, Todd Cocker, President of the Virginia Water Fowl Association will speak. Then James Journigan will share about his experiences in sports, including fishing. James coached 33 years in many sports, including football, basketball, track, and field cross country. He coached at New Kent, Petersburg High, & Matoaca High, and had over 200 wins in his career. He was Coach of the Year in 1979 by sports writers. He coached many players who went on to play college ball and pros. He has over 100 fresh water citation fish, including a 12 lb., 2oz. large mouth bass. He has killed many trophy deer, including a perfect 12 pt. buck at over 200 lbs. Including his experiences in sports, he will also share a testimony of how the Lord saved him and changed his life.

For all who register upon arrival, we will also have drawings for door prizes, including several rod & reels, fishing tackle, etc. Don’t miss this exciting event for men & boys!
